Sovini Charities believes in the transformative impact of philanthropy, creating positive change by fostering meaningful partnerships.

From local grassroots to national initiatives, we support a wide range of charities and organisations by providing funding, resources, guidance and more.

In 2023/24, Sovini Charities contributed £43.5K, with the wider Group generating £139.4M in social value, demonstrating an exponential impact.

Let’s take a look back at how Sovini Charities made a difference throughout 2023/24:

Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice

In 2024, the Group formed a partnership with Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice to support their mission of raising £3.5M for their new, purpose-built home.

A group of Sovini cyclists will be taking on the Cycle India Challenge for Zoe’s Place, committing to raising £38.5K for the life-changing charity.

To kickstart the fundraising, The Sovini Group Charity Golf Day was hosted in aid of Zoe’s Place in April 2024. The event united 80 golfers from across the housing and commercial sector to raise an incredible £19,000, which all went directly to the challenge funds.

In addition, the Group hosted ‘An Evening in India’ at our agile co-working space, The Hub, raising a further £324.93 for our Sovini cyclists. The evening was filled with mesmerising Bollywood performances, tantalising Indian cuisine and a challenging quiz, combining the best of employee engagement with social value.

An Hour for Others

A cross-team collaboration between Group partners, Sovini ConstructionSovini Property Services and Sovini Waste Solutions, saw the completion of a two-bedroom refurbishment for three deserving children.

Joining forces with An Hour for Others, a local charity committed to bringing positive change to the Liverpool City Region, the makeover took place over the course of three days.

“Having a safe space to call their own will have a massive impact on their education, on their sleep and their lives as a whole. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much to The Sovini Group.” – An Hour for Others

This project demonstrates the power of community spirit, with An Hour for Others estimating a social value contribution of £75,660 for the local community.

Brunswick Youth and Community Sports Hall

August 2024 marked the launch of the Brunswick Youth and Community Centre’s sports hall, of which we are proud sponsors.

The sponsorship marks a significant investment in our communities, providing a hub for young people to take part in sporting activities, youth programmes and community events. This will support their personal growth and development, whilst fostering a sense of belonging and community spirit.

Furthermore, our sponsorship extended to the community centre’s new eco-friendly community vehicle. This will be used to transport a wealth of individuals to community events, including under-privileged children, ensuring ‘the Brunny’ is accessible to all, no matter their background.

Cash for Kids Mission Christmas

In December 2023, the Group sponsored Cash for Kid’s Mission Christmas, supporting over 500,000 families across the UK to ensure each child woke up to a present at Christmas.

Employees across the Group raised over £2.5k, donated toys and volunteered their time by helping to pack parcels, with Sovini Trade Supplies and Sovini Property Services also dropping off deliveries to community centres.

“We are incredibly grateful to The Sovini Group for their support, not only at Christmas, but for all they do to help those in need throughout the year. They have helped to make such a big difference through their donations and volunteer time to Mission Christmas this year, we can’t thank them enough.” – Hayley Smallman, Senior Corporate Fundraising Executive at Cash for Kids.

Sovini’s Big Community Christmas

In collaboration with community partners, Sovini’s Big Community Christmas saw over 10,000 people receive vital support during the festive season through a range of initiatives, including:

  • 14 festive community events
  • 18 food, care and toy packages
  • Support packs and heating vouchers for One Vision Housing’s vulnerable customers
  • Selection boxes for schools
  • Sponsoring of warm hubs

Sefton O.P.E.R.A, a charitable voluntary group that provides services to enhance the wellbeing of older people, received a food package from the initiative.

“Rising costs have resulted in some of our clients being frightened to turn their heating on. We are incredibly grateful for the donation of this food pallet which will enable us to support hundreds of people locally.” – Vicki Martlow, O.P.E.R.A

Additionally, Group partner, Sovini Construction, raised over £10.4K in support of this initiative, thanks to donations from its supply chain.

Veterans HQ

With a long-standing commitment to the Armed Forces community, as highlighted by our Gold Armed Forces Covenant, we work in close partnership to improve the lives of vulnerable veterans.

Our work with Liverpool Veterans HQ has led to 100+ local veterans being rehomed, and in many cases, saved from homelessness.

In 2024, we proudly sponsored two Veterans HQ D-Day commemoration events for our veterans in Merseyside. To reduce social isolation, we sponsored an afternoon tea gathering, providing a space to share memories and connect with fellow veterans.

We also supported veterans in custody, with an event that aimed to foster a sense of belonging and community in prison by bringing together veterans, police officers and former service members to recognise the D-Day landings.

We are committed to continuing to enact positive change, for the benefits of our customers and communities.
