As part of the recently launched Discover our Purpose campaign, we are highlighting how we’re making a positive and lasting impact on our people, communities and partnerships.
We promote a positive culture of valuing and celebrating diversity, and proudly honour the rich heritage of the diverse organisations within our Group. Partnering with like-minded organisations as we strive to create a better future for our colleagues, customers and the communities we serve.
Group partners Pine Court Housing Association are committed to celebrating the heritage of their diverse communities which are made up of 56% Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) customers, as they welcomed the Year of the Dragon with a vibrant event.
Customers, colleagues and the wider community, along with strategic partners enjoyed a traditional celebration event at Pine Court’s sheltered accommodation scheme, Chung Hok House, which included a traditional lion dance by the official Chinese New Year celebration performers, Hung Gar Kung Fu School.
The celebrations continued at the Group’s co-working space, The Hub, as colleagues were invited to immerse themselves in the most important celebration of the year in Chinese culture.
Colleagues learnt about the culture and traditions of the Year of the Dragon with an interactive dumpling tutorial from Bilingual Housing Assistant, Tracy Lin, there was also a range of Chinese tea to sample and performances from Hung Gar Kung Fu School.
David Brown, Director at Pine Court Housing Association said: “It has been a privilege to showcase the rich culture of our organisation, and to come together with customers, colleagues and partners in the community to welcome in the Year of the Dragon.
“This event was made possible through our Community Development Fund which supports hundreds of local beneficiaries each year. This enables community and voluntary organisations to contribute to our vision of creating a better future.”
A special thank you goes out to our strategic partners who supported the Chinese New Year celebrations and kindly agreed to take part in our video showcasing Pine Court’s strong Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) proposition:
Thank you to partners from Merseyside Police, Brabners LLP, Pagoda Arts, Liverpool Chinese Business Association, World Martial Arts Organisation, WCCA Chinese School, and Chinese Wellbeing.
