The Sovini Group’s pioneering Supported Internship programme proudly welcomed Alex to its cohort of neurodiverse young people.
2023 marked the launch of the Group’s Supported Internship programme, delivered in collaboration with Liverpool City Council.
The programme aims to provide young people with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) with meaningful work experience opportunities, supporting them to improve their confidence and develop essential skills.
In June, in celebration of Neurodiversity Pride Day, the Group welcomed Alex to the transformative programme. Alex will complete her placement with Sovini Property Services, where she’ll learn all about repairs & maintenance as well as other essential skills, such as plumbing.

Alex will join Ryan, Supported Intern at Sovini Construction, on the programme, whose impact across the Group has been overwhelmingly positive. He has increased awareness of the barriers neurodiverse individuals face and supported the Group to foster equality and diversity in the workplace.
In England, only 4.8% of adults with a learning disability or autism go on to secure paid employment, a figure reduced to 4.1% in the North West. Supported Internships are here to change that by supporting individuals with SEND to secure long-term employment by breaking down barriers.
We are committed to providing meaningful work experience across the North West, and look forward to seeing Alex’s journey firsthand as she takes her first steps into the world of work.
