We are proud to announce our commitment to fostering an equal, inclusive and diverse workplace by signing the Disability Employment Charter, launched by Disability Rights UK.
As one of 200 UK organisations to join this important initiative, we are demonstrating our support for disabled individuals that currently face significant workplace disadvantages.
Did you know that disabled people in the UK face a near 30% employment gap and a 14% pay gap? These disparities highlight the urgent need for systemic change to ensure a more equal tomorrow.
Our commitment to creating an equal, inclusive and diverse workplace is unwavering. That’s why we are joining the movement to call on the Government to adopt policies that address the disadvantages disabled people face.
The Disability Employment Charter calls on the UK Government to implement changes in nine key areas, including:
- Mandatory disability employment and pay gap reporting: to increase transparency and accountability.
- Reform of Access to Work and Disability Confident employment: to ensure disabled people receive the support they need to thrive in the workplace.
- Leveraging of Government procurement: to encourage businesses to prioritise accessibility and inclusion in their supply chains.
- Enhanced access to reasonable adjustments: to support employers to create inclusive workplaces that meet the needs of disabled employees.
By enacting these changes, not only will disabled people benefit, but so will employers. Creating a more diverse, inclusive workplace can address the labour and skills shortages faced by many businesses, ensuring the attraction and retention of top talent.
We are proud to be part of the movement to create a more inclusive and equal workplace for all. By signing this Charter, we demonstrate our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. We believe that together, we can make a real difference in the lives of disabled people, building a better future for all.
