We are delighted to have been presented with the award for ‘Highest Commended CSR/ESG Initiative’  by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), after being shortlisted alongside high-profile, national organisations.

This prestigious accolade was awarded for our “A Better Future: Creating Careers & Communities” campaign, an initiative that was designed to invest in our present and future workforce whilst developing a more sustainable business approach.

The driving force behind this initiative was to increase opportunities for young people, upskill the current workforce, provide ESG education, implement community programmes and recruit talented, like-minded colleagues to create opportunities and change lives.

As part of this initiative, the Group delivered a Woman in Construction Pathway, sponsored an all-female football team (the first LGBTQIA+ team in Merseyside), recruited 11 traditional apprentices, upskilled 16 apprentices and established a Supported Pre-Intern programme to support those with neurodiversity into the industry.

In addition, we developed E-Learning to educate employees on their Net-Zero Carbon Commitment and implemented “Purpose Training” for management, to inspire, enhance performance and attract new talent.

Kerry Beirne, Chief People and Communications Officer for The Sovini Group said: “We are delighted to be presented with this award from the CIPD, recognising our commitment to creating opportunities and changing the lives of our people.

We know how important our environmental, social and governance activities are in creating a sustainable future for both our business, communities and employees, which is why developing this initiative was so important to us.

To be recognised alongside so many other high-profile organisations is an honour, and we remain committed to creating a better future for all.”
