The Gender Pay Gap is defined by the Office for National Statistics as the percentage difference between average hourly earnings for men and women, calculated across all jobs in a company or the UK as a whole, rather than the measure of the difference in pay between men and women doing the same job.
Despite the gender pay gap narrowing steadily over time, disparity in earnings still exists. As of 2025, the national median gender pay gap stood at 6.9% and the mean at 10.9% in favour of men, highlighting the need for a continued move towards earnings equality.
Sovini Property Service believe in gender equality in the workplace, and strive to prevent pay gap discrimination. As we work towards achieving this, we are pleased to share the results of our Gender Pay Gap analysis for 2026-27, reflecting our efforts to continue to empower our female colleagues working in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
For 2026-27, the Sovini Property Services’ median stood at 14.99% in favour of men, while the mean stood at 5.11% in favour of men.
While our gender pay gap figures provide an important measure, we recognise that achieving long-term equality requires continued focus on recruitment, retention, career progression and leadership development. Sovini Property Services will continue to take positive action towards equality of opportunity and reward through several proactive initiatives, such as:
- Implementing specific strategies to attract and recruit women into technical and trade roles
- Continuing the successful delivery of our Women in Construction pathway
- Partnering with all-girls schools across the Liverpool City Region to provide information on the careers available within The Sovini Group
- Continuing to strengthen our leadership pipeline by supporting female colleagues to develop the skills, experience and confidence needed to progress into management and senior leadership roles.
- Continuing with clear Equality, Diversity and Inclusion communications, both internally and externally
Kerry Beirne, Chief People and Communications Officer for The Sovini Group, said:
“We have an unwavering commitment to gender equality. We strongly believe in offering equal opportunities to all, no matter their background, and strive to create a diverse, inclusive workplace culture where all can thrive. The Sovini Group as a whole, and Sovini Property Services in particular, will continue to champion opportunities for women within the sector.”
Building on these findings, Sovini Property Services will continue to strive to narrow the gender pay gap, working to reduce inequalities across the board.
