Despite a steady, long-term reduction in the UK’s gender pay gap, the mission to eliminate workplace disparity is far from over. As of 2025, the median gender pay gap stood at 6.9% and the mean at 10.9% in favour of men, highlighting the ongoing need to drive true equality across the national workforce.
We believe in gender equality and strive to ensure that everyone is free from discrimination at the Group. We’re proud to share the results of our Gender Pay Gap analysis for 2026, demonstrating how we continue to empower women in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
What is the Gender Pay Gap?
The Gender Pay Gap is the percentage difference between average hourly earnings for men and women.
It’s a measure across all jobs in a company or the UK as a whole, rather than the measure of the difference in pay between men and women doing the same job.
Where We Stand:
Since inception we have consistently bucked the national trend. Today, our median gender pay gap stands at -8.31% in favour of women and our mean gender pay gap stands at -5.6% also in favour of women.

Looking Towards the Future
To ensure we continue to foster a workplace environment that celebrates and empowers women, we have outlined a number of strategic goals over the coming years, including:
- Implementing specific attraction strategies to recruit women into technical and trade roles
- Continuing the successful delivery of our Pathway into Construction initiative
- Partnering with all-girls school Greenbank High, to provide a clear roadmap that guides students into career-readiness
- Ensuring that female high performers have a detailed and dedicated succession plan in place
Kerry Beirne, Chief People and Communications Officer for the Group said:
