Women in Construction Week is an opportunity to celebrate and promote the role of women in the construction industry, something I am passionate about championing.
I am immensely proud of the 57 inspiring female colleagues across the Group who represent women in construction.
Throughout the week, we will be celebrating the contributions of our female construction colleagues and launching innovative initiatives to champion change in an industry where women are underrepresented.
Last week, we announced the launch of The Sovini Group Women in Construction Allegiance Pledge, encouraging colleagues to demonstrate their commitment to gender equality and actively breaking down barriers to create an inclusive and supportive workplace.
We have welcomed five talented female students into the Group this week with the return of our successful Pathway into Construction work experience programme, which aims to encourage women to consider a career in the construction industry.
We will be hearing first-hand the positive impact the Pathway into Construction had on Matilda Beckett, Apprentice Multi Skilled Operative for Sovini Property Services, who completed the work experience programme back in 2022 before securing an apprenticeship at the Group. Matilda is excelling in her role and was recently presented with the Above & Beyond Call of Duty Award at The Sovini Group Apprentice Awards 2024.
To conclude Women in Construction Week, I am delighted to be hosting a Q&A panel, alongside Amanda Cromarty, Tracey Baker, Victoria Butler, Amy Roberts, Summer Fitzmaurice, Mallen Rawsthorne, Matilda Beckett, Emily Woods, and Emma Houghton for our Pathway into Construction graduates, sharing our lived experiences, the highs, the lows and everything in between.
