As Group CEO, Dr Roy Williams has spent many years spearheading Group operations with a clear purpose to drive us forward. This year, he introduced a powerful new concept known as Lifetime Value Theory, a work-life fusion theory designed to encourage people to live their lives with purpose.
Today, he shares his insights and aspirations for the workforce of tomorrow, building on this innovative framework.
At The Sovini Group, we’ve always been about more than bricks and mortar. From our inception, our mission of creating opportunities and changing lives has driven everything we do.
This purpose resonates strongly with the values I see emerging for the next generation of talent, particularly Gen Z, following the results of the Deloitte 2024 Gen Z and Millennial Survey. This revealed that 86% of Gen Z and 89% of millennials believe that having a sense of purpose is very or somewhat important to their overall job satisfaction and wellbeing.
We understand that today’s workforce, especially those starting their careers, are seeking more than just a job; they’re looking for meaning. They want to contribute to something bigger than themselves, to be part of a mission that genuinely makes a difference. This isn’t a new concept to us – it’s woven into the very fabric of our operations and underpins our newly launched Lifetime Value Theory.
Lifetime Value Theory highlights how your career is more than just a job, and focuses on the sense of purpose and satisfaction it brings, rather than just money, networking or achievements. It encourages you to focus on the impact and value of what you do, so that you can transform your career into something meaningful, making your life more enjoyable and fulfilling.
For us, our purpose has always been to create opportunities and change lives in pursuit of a better future. Whether it’s providing safe, affordable homes, investing in communities, or offering pathways to employment and training, every initiative we undertake is designed to create a positive impact.
As Investors in People’s Best Purpose-Driven People Community, to us being purpose-driven means:
- We don’t just serve our communities, we’re part of them. We actively listen, invest and collaborate to address community needs, ensuring we create tangible, lasting benefits for our customers.
- We’ve created a workplace environment where our colleagues can thrive, not just professionally, but personally. We champion continuous learning and development, because we understand that by investing in our people, we invest in our future.
- We’re committed to sustainable practices and ethical operations. We recognise our responsibility to the environment and to future generations, constantly seeking ways to minimise our footprint and maximise our impact.
- We firmly believe that diverse perspectives fuel innovation, and a truly equal workplace empowers everyone to achieve their full potential. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive culture where every voice is heard and valued.
We’re proud of the impact we create, and even prouder of the passionate individuals that make it all happen. If you’re someone who is motivated by making a tangible difference, who values an employer committed to social responsibility, and who thrives in an environment that prioritises both personal growth and collective good, then The Sovini Group might just be the place for you.
