Sovini Golf Day raises £6k towards new community shop
The Sovini Group Annual Charity Golf Day this year raised £6,000 for the Big Help Project.
The day, which was sponsored by Carroll Group, was held at West Derby Golf Club and saw around 80 golfers from the region’s housing and commercial sectors compete in aid of the charity – which helps alleviate poverty across the region.
The funds will help the Big Help Project establish a new community shop at Carr Meadow Hey in Bootle, in association with One Vision Housing.
CEO of the Big Help Project Barry Cooper said: “We are delighted to accept this very generous donation from The Sovini group, which will help support our range of projects that increasingly are reaching out beyond Knowsley and into the wider city region.”
The Sovini Group Chief Executive Roy Williams said: “Our second annual charity golf day was a huge success. I would like to thank all the attendees and our principal sponsors Carroll Group for helping us raise such a significant amount for charity. We are proud to support the valuable work The Big Help Project carry out in our region, which matches our own dedication for helping to leave lasting legacies in the communities we serve. We look forward to working closely with The Big Help Project in the future, particularly with the opening of the Carr Meadow Hey community shop in Bootle.”
